A Cold Case That Will Never Close
Reopening the files on Jack the Ripper
The Museum of London has a new exhibition, “Jack the Ripper and the East End,” that for the first time opens everything in the Jack the Ripper case file to public inspection. And just as the celebrated series of 11 murders in the 1880s originally did, it puts a spotlight on the crime and poverty that besieged London at the time. As George Bernard Shaw said, the Ripper did more for London than any philanthropist.
