Though the labor market shows signs of improvement and more companies say they plan to hire in 2010, that's little comfort to one of the millions of Americans still out of work. Still, certain sectors of the economy remain strong and in need of educated employees who can take the reigns of a modern economy. Careers in security are on the rise, as are those that help America harness clean energy and—in related fields—help the environment. Health care and education remain our country's top priorities, so teachers and nurses are still in luck, according to research conducted by Challenger, Gray & Christmas, Inc. If you're out of work, or even deciding what you might major in at college, here's a look at America's recession-resistant industries.
