This second-generation hybrid is tops when it comes to excellent fuel economy. It rides remarkably well, is roomy enough for 5 passengers and has a spacious hatchback cargo area. Plus, it's zippy enough to go from 0 to 60 in about 10 seconds. And since this hybrid is no longer a novelty, most dealers have plenty in stock, eliminating the wait lists that plagued early buyers. About the only downside to the Prius is its science experiment looks.
