As the case of Michael Jackson proves, famous people have a draw and impact that lasts long after they've shuffled off this mortal coil. But there is a surprising inconsistency to the final resting places of the famous. It somehow makes sense that Princess Diana is entombed on an island on her family's estate, but why is Jimi Hendrix, a man not known for conforming to type, buried in similarly ostentatious circumstances? Sometimes the grave suits the man well, like the large black marble slab for Johnny Cash, and other times, it's shockingly humble, such as the simple stone for Frank Sinatra, a man well-known for wanting "all, or nothing at all." Every celebrity has their own style in life and death, which is why we’ve collected a range of celebrity memorials, from the unmarked to the magnificent.
