The Walled-Off World - Israel to Mexico
The West Bank Barrier
After decades of discussion, the Israeli government began construction of a wall separating Palestinian territories from Israeli ones in 2002, during the Second Intifada. Still under construction, it mostly follows 1949 armistice lines (allowing Israel to claim it was merely a defensive measure to stop the incursions of suicide bombers) but in some places includes Israeli settlements in the West Bank.
