Grief After a Rampage in Fort Hood
By Kate Dailey
In the aftermath of the Fort Hood shootings, both press and public were focused on the background of the alleged shooter, Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan. This week, a ceremony at Fort Hood allowed the country, including President Barack Obama, to grieve for the fallen.
There are more questions to be asked and answered about the potential warning signs missed and the level of care given to our troops. But for now, it’s a time to mourn, remember, and thank the men and women who were willing to risk their lives in wars fought overseas, only to be struck down in their own country.
