Product associations can be powerful: they remind us of certain moments, places, experiences, and events. Those connections can be associated with fuzzy, happy feelings, but sometimes they're horrific—like when they're linked to a tawdry celebrity or political sexcapade. Suddenly, we can't look at a common object the way we used to. Allegations of sexual assault against former vice president Al Gore, whom his accuser described as a "crazed sex poodle," is just one example.
