Some politicians are destined for greatness. Others, not so much. Since they're human, or at least human-ish, all sorts of mishaps can befall them on the trail. An undisciplined outburst, a mental blank, a display of profound weirdness, pounced on by merciless media and given saturation airplay, can render a politician forever unelectable or requiring intense image rehabilitation. Then there are the rare cases where a display of idiosyncrasy helps a candidate seem more like us. With two weeks to go until Election Day, there will surely be more unforgettable moments to come. Here are some doozies from the recent (and not so recent) past.
