You can't go home again. But government office? That's a different story. While Tuesday wasn't kind to incumbents, voters decided a handful of ex-incumbents looked like attractive candidates, and sent them back to represent constituencies they represented two, four, even 30 years ago. It's a somewhat unorthodox path: many former officeholders either choose to run for other office or return to private life; others use their government connections to snag lucrative industry and lobbying jobs. What's more, these winners weren't even the only ones to try to follow the Grover Cleveland model of electoral politics. Several candidates tried and failed to reclaim their erstwhile posts. Here are a few of Tuesday's comeback kids.
