Mother Nature gave the world her worst in 2011. Not only did natural disasters pack an unusually large punch, they came in deadly groups: biblical swarms of tornadoes, clusters of quakes, and Old Testament levels of flooding. And age-old dangers, like famine, combined with more modern threats, like nuclear power and global warming, to deadly effect.
