More than 60,000 gun-loving members of the National Rifle Association attended the group's 2005 Annual Meeting in Houston, Texas. Headlining the speeches was former U.S. House Majority Leader and native Texan Tom DeLay, who was praised by NRA Vice President Wayne LaPierre as "a true friend and tireless advocate for the Second Amendment." Music, seminars, banquets and acres of weapons, accessories and prized firearms entertained gun enthusiasts at the three-day conference. Photographer Charles Ommanney surveyed the scene, displaying it in a delicate black and white.
