Newt Gingrich on Wednesday blamed the media for Melania Trump’s RNC plagiarism scandal. During an interview with CNN, the prominent Trump surrogate said the controversy has made him “disgusted” with the news media, who he believes would not be so hard on a Democrat caught doing the same thing. Asked if her lifting passages from Michelle Obama’s 2008 speech is a problem for the campaign, Gingrich did not deny the accusation, but instead replied with two words: “Who cares?” He continued, “The fact is, Melania gave a good speech. She was stunningly attractive. She's stunningly articulate. Most of the people criticizing her can't speak five languages. She’s a bright person. She introduced herself in a way that's attractive.”
