Notre Dame’s Iconic Towers Will Survive Devastating Blaze: Officials

The iconic twin towers of Paris’ Notre Dame Cathedral will survive the devastating blaze that destroyed the church’s central spire, roof, and much of its interior Monday afternoon, according to French officials cited by The Washington Post. The towers, which flank the 800-year-old cathedral’s main entrance, will be one of the only parts of the building that will survive the fire, which continues to rage. The building’s exterior structure is also expected to stay standing. No deaths or injuries have yet been reported.
