Under fire for tax-related problems, former Sen. Tom Daschle, President Obama's nominee to head the Health and Human Services Department, apologized in a statement to the Finance Committee today. Daschle said he was "deeply embarrassed and disappointed" that he neglected to pay $140,000 in back taxes.
