President Obama’s first Twitter town hall kicks off at 2 p.m. on Thursday. The president, however, will not be tweeting. Rather, he’ll field questions on Twitter and then answer them with a microphone. “He's just answering the questions. He's not typing and tweeting," said White House spokesman Jay Carney last week. Still the White House is treating this as a novel new outreach, even inviting 140 followers from the White House Twitter feed—one for each character you’re allowed in a tweet—to attend in person. Twitter users with questions for Obama should use the hashtag #AskObama.
