President Obama is seeking the advice of former President Bill Clinton, who dealt with his own “shellacking” in 1994 and a hostile House during his subsequent second term. On Friday, Clinton and Obama will meet to discuss ways to move Obama’s agenda forward during the next two years. Clinton, after his party’s defeat in the 1994 midterm elections, moved his party to the center, compromising with Republicans but angering some of his base. Clinton isn't the only predecessor Obama has been consulting, either; last week, he met with former President Jimmy Carter.
