The leaders of protest groups in Hong Kong are now threatening to call off talks with the government due to the fights between demonstrators and pro-government opponents. According to the leaders, in order for talks to take place, the government must stop the "organised attacks" on protesters. One group representing students has since said it would not take part in talks. Earlier, the protesters had accepted an offer from Hong Kong's chief executive, but on Friday pro-government opponents dismantled demostrators' tents and started scuffles. In addition, the police linked arms to try to separate the groups.
