An Ohio man pleaded guilty Thursday and received life in prison without parole after he admitted to killing a woman, her 11-year-old son and a neighbor and then stuffing their remains into a nearby tree. Matthew Hoffman, 30, also pleaded guilty to kidnapping and sexually abusing the woman's 13-year-old daughter, who police found bound and gagged in his basement. According to Hoffman’s lawyer, Hoffman committed the crimes after encountering one of the victims, Tina Hermann, while attempting to burglarize her home. The remains of Hermann, her son Kody Maynard, and Stephanie Spring were found in a rural area Nov. 18 after they’d been missing 10 days, and autopsy results indicated they had been dismembered.
