A suicide bomber drove a motorcycle up to a security checkpoint near the U.S. consulate in Peshawar, Pakistan early Friday and detonated 22 pounds of explosives, killing at least six people and wounding 11 more. Four men and two women were among the dead, officials said. The area, rife with Islamic militants, is frequently the target of violent attacks, including a car bomb that killed 12 people last week.
