Pakistan’s military blocked a convoy of thousands of Pakistanis and U.S. antiwar activists from entering the region of South Waziristan to protest U.S. drone strikes Sunday. The group was led by Imran Khan, who has long been critical of the drone strikes and the Pakistani government’s cooperation with Washington. After negotiating for hours, Khan announced that the group would head to the city of Tank, where he delivered a speech to the crowd of 10,000 people. “We want to give a message to America that the more you carry out drone attacks, the more people will hate you,” Khan said.
