In response to President Obama's State of the Union, the GOP's Rep. Paul Ryan called for a new era of "limited government, low taxes, and reasonable regulations," adding that the "spending spree" is over. "Our nation is approaching a tipping point," said the Wisconsin Republican. "We are at a moment, where if government's growth is left unchecked and unchallenged, America's best century will be considered our past century." Ryan pointed out Obama's health-care law in particular as a piece of legislation that is propelling the U.S. "toward bankruptcy." Ryan was tapped by Speaker John Boehner and Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to deliver the rebuttal.
