A Department of Defense audit of government travel credit-card transactions found that some employees didn’t quite know where to draw the line between work and personal matters: They used Pentagon-issued cards to pay for gambling and escorts. Officials are expected to issue “stern warnings” about the practice. Fortunately, taxpayers didn’t quite end up footing the bill. Employees pay their own card bills, and then submit receipts for reimbursement.
