Over the years,Texas Gov. Rick Perry has doled out state aid to his most generous donors—and the businesses they own. Perry is known as an impressive fundraiser, but a New York Times review of Perry's office shows that one of his most successful fundraising tools is the state government he heads. For example, investors in G-Con, a pharmaceutical company, have given tens of thousands of dollars to Perry's campaign, and in turn an economic development fund led by Perry's office handed $3 million to the company in 2010.
