Famed pop artist Peter Max resurfaced in court Wednesday after being allegedly held against his will for a month by his son and guardian. The 77-year-old artist's wife, Mary Max, appealed to the Manhattan Supreme Court that she had been cut off from her husband. According to his guardian, however, Max was removed from his wife because he suffers from mild dementia and Mary is "unstable," having once allegedly threatened to kill herself and Max.
