If you’re on the run with the loot, maybe don’t stop for medical care? Former Philippines president Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, now a representative, was placed under arrest in a hospital on Thursday on charges of plunder. It’s her second arrest and third indictment since she left office in 2010. Nine others were also charged in the case, which involves the misuse of millions of dollars from a charity fund. Arroyo is currently out on bail on charges of electoral sabotage, but she’s not getting away this time: “plunder” is a non-bailable offense, with a maximum sentence of life imprisonment.
