Dreams do come true. The Pittsburgh Pirates put an end to a depressing streak Monday night when they beat the Texas Rangers 1–0, clinching the team’s first winning season since ’92. This could mean a chance at the playoffs or even a National League Central Division crown, if luck is on the team’s side. And if nothing else, the Pirates still hold the title for longest streak of nonwinning seasons in North American professional-sports history.
