A polygamist running the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Utah was indicted on food stamp fraud charges along with almost a dozen other people including his imprisoned brother. Prosecutors allege that the religious leader, Lyle Jeffs, wanted members to divert money from food stamp benefits into the church Storehouse, which collects and gives items to the community.
