Harry Potter is going out with a bang. The final installment in the series smashed the previous record for opening midnight ticket sales, raking in $43.5 million. The previous record was held by The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, which grossed about $30 million on a Wednesday in June 2010. The strong opening night indicates Potter may be on track to beat The Dark Knight, which holds the record for a three-day domestic opening with $158.4 million.
