The Department of Justice is reportedly set to crack down on individuals who lie on their background-check forms when they try to buy a gun. According to The New York Times, the DOJ will soon order U.S. attorneys to prioritize such prosecutions. The decision comes a week after the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, which resulted in the deaths of 17 people. It also comes as Congress may soon consider new gun-control measures.
