With multiple reports indicating that Bill O’Reilly’s time at Fox News has come to a close—amid sexual-harassment allegations and advertiser boycotts—comes news that the cable network wants a replacement host ready to go as soon as next Monday. “Hearing Fox News wants new host in place for Monday 8pm debut,” New York reporter Gabe Sherman wrote on Wednesday afternoon, hours after breaking the news, based on sources, that Fox has decided to sever ties with O’Reilly. Fellow media reporters who’d heard similar chimed in to agree. According to CNN, possible replacements for the volcanic primetime host include his occasional substitute-hosts Dana Perino, Eric Bolling, or Greg Gutfeld; or moving Tucker Carlson’s successful show to the 8 p.m. slot and placing a hard-news show (like Bret Baier’s) in the 9 p.m. slot once held by Megyn Kelly.
