Donald Trump’s preliminary list of candidates for his Cabinet team includes Rudy Giuliani, Chris Christie, Newt Gingrich, and Mike Huckabee, among others. The list, revealed by BuzzFeed News on Wednesday, contains 41 names and covers 14 different departments, with many candidates being considered for multiple positions. In some cases, it appears the transition team is trying to reward loyal Trump allies. Ben Carson, for instance, is pitched for multiple positions, as if the transition team is trying to find a spot for him in any department. Christie, Giuliani, and Jeff Sessions are listed as potential candidates for attorney general, according to the report. Gingrich, Bob Corker, and John Bolton are among the candidates for secretary of State. Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus is mentioned as the possible chief of staff. Fox News regular Sheriff David A. Clarke, who once called for “pitchforks” if Clinton were to win the election, is mentioned for Department of Homeland Security. A source familiar with the matter was cited as saying the list is likely to be changed in the future.
