A police informant may have encouraged the Tunisian man who killed 12 people when he deliberately drove a truck through a crowd of people in a Berlin market last year, according to German media reports. The man, a source for police in North-Rhine Westphalia state, reportedly had lengthy contact with the attacker. Herbert Reul, the western state’s top security official, said Friday that prosecutors are investigating that case and “if there were mistakes in the past, they will be clearly named.”
