This could make for some wild debates. Sources tell National Review that Ted Cruz, a firebrand freshman senator from Texas, is considerign a presidential run. “Cruz already has grassroots on his side, and in this climate, that’s all he may need,” a Republican source tells the Review. Cruz has only been in the Senate for a few months, but he’s already proven an expert at getting attention—not always positive. Some establishment Republicans criticized the Texas senator for his harsh questioning of Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel. Most recently, Cruz landed in hot water when he bragged that his fellow Republicans were mad at him for making them look like “squishes” when he threatened to filibuster gun control.
