Ahead of Tuesday’s primary vote, a new survey showed Mitt Romney leading in Mississippi. According to the American Research Group, Romney is beating Gingrich 34 percent to 32 percent, with Rick Santorum at 22 percent. Another poll from last week shows Gingrich in the lead with 35 percent over Romney’s 31. Gingrich, who’s focused his energy on Mississippi and Alabama—states that neighbor his native Georgia—is leading Romney by 3 points in Alabama, according to yet another poll released Monday. In Mississippi, Tea Party voters are gravitating more toward Gingrich, followed by Romney, then Santorum and Paul. Also, while the 54 percent of voters surveyed are “anti-Romney,” their loyalties are split between Gingrich and Santorum. “If Gingrich and Santorum continue to split the anti-Romney vote, Romney will win,” predicted American Research Group’s analysis.
