Miami’s art collectors Mera and Don Rubell announced plans to open a new contemporary art center in Washington D.C. The museum will be housed in a 20,000-square-foot space they purchased for $6.5 million from the Corcoran Museum of Art in partnership with the Telesis real estate development firm. “It has always been a fantasy to have a satellite museum in Washington,” said Mera Rubell. “It is an exciting opportunity in challenging times. To pull this off would be a big deal.”
