Sargent Shriver, the brother-in-law of JFK and first director of the Peace Corps, is in critical condition in a Maryland Hospital. Shriver, 95, also led LBJ’s War on Poverty and was George McGovern’s running mate in 1972. His wife, Eunice, who founded the Special Olympics, died in 2009. His exact condition is unknown; in 2003, he announced that he had Alzheimer’s.
