Authorities said Monday two shooters attacked the U.S. consulate in Istanbul, following a car bombing at a police station that left 10 people injured overnight. Police blocked off the streets surrounding the consulate in the Sariyer district on the European side of the city. Local media reported the attackers were a man and woman, who reportedly fled after police returned fire. There were no immediate reports of injuries. According to broadcaster NTV, police later detained the female suspect, who was reportedly wounded in the gunfire. Earlier, a car bomb was detonated in an attack on a police station in the Istanbul district of Sultanbeyli, wounding three police officers and seven civilians, police said. Two gunmen and a senior bomb squad officer were reportedly killed in gunfire that continued into Monday morning, CNN Turk reported.
