Sisi Won’t Help Imprisoned Journalists

Newly elected Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has made it crystal clear on national television that he will not interfere with the court ruling that sentenced three Al Jazeera journalists to jail for seven years each. Despite the international outcry, Sisi said “We will not interfere in judicial rulings,” at a televised speech at a military graduation ceremony. “We must respect judicial rulings and not criticize them even if others do not understand this.”
