Japan can breathe a sigh of relief as only the tiniest of tsunamis reached the east coast after a 7.1-magnitude earthquake rattled the region on Friday. There were no immediate reports of damage from the quake and the operator of the wrecked Fukushima nuclear plant said on Saturday that there was no damage or spike in radiation levels. The quake took place about 230 miles out to sea but could be felt as far as Tokyo.
