John Taylor Skilling, the son of former Enron CEO Jeff Skilling, was found dead in his California apartment Thursday, and police said he was surrounded by bottles of medication. Skilling, 20, a student at Chapman University, had recently gone through a devastating breakup, police said. Police are awaiting autopsy reports before ruling out homicide, the family’s lawyer said. Skilling’s father, Jeff Skilling, is serving 24 years in prison for fraud, insider trading, and other crimes relating to Enron’s collapse. Jeff Skilling's lawyer, Daniel Petrocelli, said the elder Skilling is “devastated, heartbroken” over his son’s death, and said he requested permission to attend his son’s funeral.
