Forget about that closure, Sopranos fans. It was reported earlier today that the show's creator David Chase confirmed that Tony did not die, a possibility many considered with the numerous menacing characters surrounding him in the final scene that cut to black. However, Chase released a response to the report. "To simply quote David as saying, 'Tony Soprano is not dead,' is inaccurate. There is a much larger context for that statement and as such, it is not true," his publicist said in a statement. It turns out that Tony may, in fact, be sleeping with the fishes.
