The case of the Australian girl who was chained to a fake bomb has gotten even stranger. According to officials close to the case, the ransom note left at the scene bore the name of a character from a 1966 James Clavell novel about two warring businessmen. The note made no demands for money, despite the fact that the girl's father is a wealthy businessman. The would-be bomber apparently fled the house, wearing a ski-mask, and hopped into a car driven by a woman, according to a neighbor who blogged about it shortly after the car sped off.
