Place your bets: Mike Allen says President Obama will announce his Supreme Court pick to replace Justice Stevens on Monday, and “top White House aides will be shocked” if it’s not Solicitor General Elena Kagan. Allen says, “Obama considers her to be a persuasive, fearless advocate who would serve as an intellectual counterweight to Chief Justice Roberts and Justice Scalia.” At 50 years old, her relative youth is seen as an asset too.
