The Swedish journalist who was killed on board a submarine died after she was hit by a hatch cover on the ship, according to the homemade vessel’s owner—and the suspect in her death. Danish man Peter Madsen said he was holding the hatch when he lost his footing and it shut abruptly. Madsen said he tried to bury journalist Kim Wall at sea and then planned to commit suicide. He has been charged with killing Wall after her headless torso was found in the water near Denmark.
