As Nashville faces a $1 billion dollar cleanup effort from days of storms and flooding, Taylor Swift has donated $500,000 to the country music mecca. “Being at home during the storm, I honestly could not believe what was happening to the city and the people I love so dearly,” explained Swift, who moved to the city when she was 14 to pursue her singing career. “Nashville is my home, and the reason why I get to do what I love. I have always been proud to be a Nashvillian, but especially now, seeing the love that runs through this city when there are people in crisis.” Relief efforts are quickly coming together for the damaged city with backing from several additional country stars. Country music cable network GAC is also hosting an upcoming telethon that will feature performances by Brad Paisley and Lady Antebellum.
