A boat captain hunting swordfish was killed on Friday in Hawaii when he speared a six-foot-long, 40-pound swordfish before it came back and slashed at his chest with its dangerous bill, local police said. Randy Llanes, 47, who ran a deep sea fishing charter, was killed in the waters of Honokohau Harbor off the Big Island after he jumped in the water and shot his spear gun at the fish, police say. The spear hit its mark, but the fish thrashed about, got wrapped around a mooring anchor and struck Llanes in the chest, a Hawaii Police official said. He died later in the hospital from his injuries.
