A 15-year-old boy will be charged as an adult in the abduction, sexual assault and murder of an 8-year-old girl at an artists' housing complex in Santa Cruz, Calif. District Attorney Jeff Rosell said Wednesday Adrian Jerry "A.J." Gonzalez was arrested after the body of Madyson "Maddy" Middleton was found in a recycling bin at the Tannery Arts Center, where both he and the victim lived. Middleton was reportedly tied up, beaten, raped, killed and dumped in a recycling bin, according to the charging document, which warranted a charge in the superior court rather than juvenile court. Middleton's autopsy has not been released. Gonzalez faces one count of murder with a special allegation of murder by lying in wait. He was also charged with felony murder, forcible rape and other sex counts. Gonzalez is scheduled to appear in court Thursday.
