A teenage boy’s dream joyride turned deadly on Friday after he took a family friend’s Lamborghini for a test run. 18-year-old Samuel Shepard lost control of the high-powered sports car and crashed into a guardrail. He was pronounced dead at Stony Brook University Hospital. The family friend, 49-year-old Michael Power, rode in the passenger seat and was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Shepard’s father, Gene, says Samuel was going to begin serving alongside the Army Rangers in October and that Lamborghinis were his favorite car.
