The Parents' Television Council is known for its prudery about what shows up on TV, but this time it's targeting the sexualization of teenage girls in popular shows. Armed with a 20-page study, the group claims that underage girls are more likely than adults to be objectified in shows like The Office, NCIS, Two and a Half Men, The Big Bang Theory, and The Vampire Diaries. The report says teenage girls are increasingly portrayed as having their self-worth depend on their sexuality—an issue that's also been highlighted by the American Psychological Association. The PTC posted a video montage on its website to corroborate the study.
