A 17-year-old Colorado girl had both her legs severed Monday when she and her friends tried to jump aboard a moving train. Anna Beninati, a freshman at Colorado State University, was discovered by a female paramedic who happened to be driving by the scene. On the 911 tape, released Wednesday, the caller can be heard yelling “Do not move her!” to people trying to help. Beninati and her friends were allegedly trying to “train hop” when she slipped and fell beneath the steel wheels, which were moving at about 10mph. Beninati was conscious as the EMT reported to the 911 dispatcher that one leg had been severed at the hip, and the other beneath the knee. Beninati is currently at Denver Medical Center after doctors amputated both her legs.
